You will certainly not experience a shortage of stripers at this time of year, and they come in all sizes too! There is a lot of Lake Hartwell hybrid fishing and striper fishing, and it is common to have limits on quality fish. Most importantly, though, the large ones are on the prowl, in the depths of the water, where artificial lures prove to be incredibly effective.
It may seem odd, yet in November it can often be difficult to go fishing. This is because fish are usually really scattered and the lake “turns over” at this point. However, once you get to December, the fish appear to be in a much more identifiable pattern.
The pattern does differ, yet once you get on the fish, you should be able to stay with them throughout the majority of the winter period.
Nonetheless, December is the prime time to make those large catches! During this period, the fish go on a hard feed, especially once the temperature in the water hits between 57 and 58 degrees.
